Our Story

Adapt Counseling Collective was born as a branch of a broader collective, including Adapt Social Collective and Adapt: A Behavioral Collective Inc. The original branch, Adapt: A Behavioral Collective Inc., began as a means to serve children with Autism and behavioral disorders, as well as their families. Through this family-centered approach, an increasing need for counseling services became apparent. The mission behind creating the Counseling Collective was to not only provide counseling services to the community, but to offer individualized and high quality care. It was with this purpose in mind, that Adapt Counseling Collective came to life.

LaRonna Watson, MA., LCSW

Hi! My name is LaRonna Watson and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I've been practicing since 2018 throughout the Bay Area and the Central Valley.

I attended California State University East Bay in Hayward, CA where I obtained both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees. I am a native of the Bay Area and wanted to utilize my skills to help eliminate the stigma of mental health in the BIPOC community.

Growing up in Oakland highlighted to me the need for mental health services within my community. I now work with diverse populations including children, people experiencing homelessness, veterans, LGBTQ, and more. My services include focusing on issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, sexual assault, and PTSD, among others. Using a client centered approach, I work towards meeting you where you are, while using other treatment modalities when needed. I look forward to working with you, in a short or long term capacity, on whatever areas you wish to focus on that will benefit you the most!

Welcome! I’m Suzanne Hernandez, a dedicated and compassionate therapist-in-training. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). I will be graduating in the summer of 2025.

My academic journey began at the University of California, Berkeley, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Initially, I planned to become an attorney, but along the way, I discovered my true passion: working with children and helping individuals navigate their emotional challenges.

For nearly six years, I have been working as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist. This role has allowed me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of many children and their families, fostering development and emotional well-being. My experience in ABA therapy has solidified my commitment to a career where I can continue to support and uplift others.

I look forward to bringing my diverse background, academic knowledge, and hands-on experience to my future work as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope to connect with you soon!
